| EACH RELEASE INCLUDES a different stamp design featuring key characters and scenes from the award winning 'The Fellowship of the Ring', 'The Two Towers', and 'The Return of the King' motion pictures. The 40 cent denomination is the standard postage rate for domestic letters in New Zealand and as such these stamps were popular items. Note that the decorative border differs from that of the regular Stamp Sheets in the corresponding commemorative issues. These Official Sheetlets were only issued and marketed in New Zealand to mark this seven year-long, US$270 million production. They were designed by Sacha Lees at Weta Workshop in Miramar, Wellington. |
